Photographer
A couple of weeks ago I took the kids to the park and played photographer. I had so much fun, I kept taking pictures until my camera battery died! The kids were awesome for me and were more patient then I thought they could ever be. I thought I would post a couple of my favorite
s!

Honorary Preschooler
Today was Morgan's last full day of preschool until the next school year. Every day when I drop Morgan off at school, Elle cries because she can't stay, too. So today, they let Elle stay at school with Morgan. She brought her own backpack and hung it on the hook next to Morgan's. She was smiling so big when I left. They read books and went outside for recess. Miss Erin tells me that Elle went down the slide the entire time! When they came back inside, the had popcorn for a snack. She was so cute when I went to pick them up! She felt like such a big girl! She can't wait until she can start school, and frankly, neither can I!!

Innocent enough
It was an innocent enough plan: Put Elle to sleep in our bed so while we were out she would not fight with Morgan and Troy would have no trouble. Somehow, it did not quite work out that way. Troy was watching our kids while Matt and I went out for a couple of hours. We put all of the kids to bed before we left. Elle and Morgan have been fighting really bad the last couple of nights and Elle empties the whole dresser. I did not want Troy to have to deal with two little girls and their mayhem. Solution? Put Morgan in her bed and Elle in our bed.
After we were gone maybe 45 min or so, Troy was just hanging out, probably playing GTA4, when he hears the sound of a small object drop upstairs. With three little kids in the house, this is not an uncommon occurrence, even at night. It would have been easy enough to dismiss it as Morgan dropping her book or Miles throwing something out of his crib. But Troy is a top notch babysitter, he lets no problem go unsolved and no mystery go unanswered. So he goes up and checks on the kids. He is smart enough to realize that Elle is the biggest trouble maker this side of the Mississippi, so he checks on her first. He opens the door; she is not in bed. He slowly makes his way around the corner to our bathroom only to find Elle covered from head to toe in a red liquid! He takes a quick look around and realizes that she has found my makeup bag, including my color stay red lipstick! Now the mystery of the fallen object is answered, but remember what I said about Troy also letting no problem go unsolved? He spent two whole hours trying to scrub said lipstick off of Elle's body...to no avail!
So will we see Troy again? Will he dare enter this house once more? Will he ever be brave enough to watch our children again, knowing full well what might happen? Only time will tell.

Growing up
Miles has been growing up way too fast lately. He is no longer my baby, but my little boy. He walks, almost runs, understands what I am saying, and tries to repeat everything I say. I try to get him to say things in front of people or on the phone, but he turns silent the moment he thinks someone else is listening. So I finally got a couple of phrases on video today. He would not let me set him down to do it, so he was on my left hip while I filmed him with my right hand. So forgive me if he is not quite centered!

The New Elle
Miles got his stitches out this morning. He is the most over dramatic boy I know. I thought boys were supposed to be tough! We had three people holding him down while the doctor took out the stitches and we probably could have used one more! But they are out and he looks great!

Miles: A noise with stitches on it
Friday, while I was making lunch, the kids were running a muck downstairs. Miles fell, as toddlers often do, and hit his mouth on the bottom edge of the entertainment center. His top teeth went into his bottom lip and the edge of the entertainment center went up into his bottom lip, meeting his teeth in the middle. I met Matt at his pediatrician's office and they sent us to Primary Childrens' ER. Luckily, we were able to drop the girls off at Charise's. 5 hours later, Miles emerged from the ER with 4 stitches in his bottom lip.
The doctors and nurses were fantastic! Everybody loved him, as expected, and took turns holding him. He had his first crush on the first doctor we saw. She was pretty cute! He is usually really shy around strangers, but he was smiling at her and talking to her the whole time! When it was finally time to sedate him so they could stitch him up, they pushed Ketamine through an IV in his hand. He would knock out for about a minute or two, then wake right up screaming again. They gave him 4 or 5 times the normal dose, which was fine. They were singing to him and holding his hands, and talking to him the whole time. We could not have asked for better doctors and nurses.
Miles has not, as of yet, noticed the stitches in his lip. They are bright blue, so everybody else notices them! He is not in pain or discomfort, and is the same happy Miles!!

Itty Bitty Basketball
The girls started basketball last week. They will have three more classes this month, then move on to soccer next month. Elle absolutely loved it! Morgan was quite shy at first, but eventually warmed up and had a blast! You never realized how big a basketball actually is until you see Elle try to dribble one!!! I loved watching them!
