Magic Birthday Party

We had Morgan's 5th birthday party tonight. Lincoln and Hazel were sick and couldn't make it and we missed them terribly. But Uncle Matt promises to do an encore of the magic show for you once you are feeling better!
We started by watching Presto, the short on Wall-e. So cute; the kids laughed hysterically. Then we ate pizza and breadsticks. When everyone was done, the kids all grabbed a carton of popcorn and we piled on the love sacs to watch Matt do a magic show. He did such a wonderful job! Even some adults couldn't figure out the tricks!

After the magic show, Morgan opened her presents. She got some awesome stuff...thanks everyone! I will post pictures of her using everything later. Then we all had cake and ice cream. Delicious. Lastly, before everyone left, we opened our party favors.
Everyone seemed to have an awesome and magical time at the party. Thank you all for coming!

Hi-larious

So keep in mind that when this story happened, it was hilarious. It may not transfer well to print.
I took Elle and Miles grocery shopping while Morgan was in school today. Elle likes to sit up front and get buckled in & Miles likes to sit in the back and play with the groceries until there is no longer room for him. So I had some Motrin, Barbie bandaids, deodorant, shaving cream, and milk in the cart. I reached in the door for some yogurt when Miles started freaking out. He was screaming and crying and flailing. I looked down and saw that he must have started playing with the shaving cream because the milk was covered in it & it was all over his shoes and coat. He kept flailing his arms and legs to get it off, but it wasn't helping. I laughed to the point of tears.

Uber girly

Morgan is so girly lately, it makes me forget how much of a tomboy she used to be. She refuses to wear pants anymore...she is all tights and skirts and dresses. She uses her hour of "quiet time" everyday to dress up as a princess or ballerina. If I ask her how she wants her hair done in the morning, she requests anywhere from 3-5 pigtails. Morgan is just really fun lately.

Sunbeams or Jellybeans?

I took the girlies to church yesterday, I know...quite a feat for me. Morgan is now a CTR5 and Elle is a Sunbeam. I was trying to talk up going to Sunbeams to Elle so she wouldn't be as nervous once we got there. She got this big smile on her face, looked me in the eyes and said, "Yeah Mommy! It will be will very fun and very delicious!" I just looked at her, now knowing what she was talking about. Responding to my puzzled look, she said, "You know, Sunbeams are like little pink jellybeans!" It may not be as funny in print, but trust me it was hilarious at the time.

A Beaded Mess

I grew up with this craft...tiny cylindrical beads that you put in patterns on a tiny pegboard and then iron them so they fuse together. I thought I would share this childhood memory with my kids, so I went to Michael's and bought some for us to do together. The past couple of weeks, they have been very good doing this while I do dishes, or laundry, or what have you. Then, two days ago, I put them at the table with these beads and went downstairs to get one things. By the time I came back upstairs, this is what I found:

The girls immediately went into turbo apology mode, repeatedly telling me that they were so sorry. I sent them to their rooms to make their beds and clean up toys while I vacuumed. Miles opted to stay behind and insisted that it was his turn to vacuum. How could I stay mad after that?
