Growing up

Miles has been growing up way too fast lately. He is no longer my baby, but my little boy. He walks, almost runs, understands what I am saying, and tries to repeat everything I say. I try to get him to say things in front of people or on the phone, but he turns silent the moment he thinks someone else is listening. So I finally got a couple of phrases on video today. He would not let me set him down to do it, so he was on my left hip while I filmed him with my right hand. So forgive me if he is not quite centered!

The New Elle

Elle got her hair cut Friday...just like Ava's!!! I took her to a place called Cookie Cutters. She sat in a pink Cadillac car and watched Finding Nemo while they cut her hair. They even have Playstations at every station so the older kids can play video games while they get their hair cut!! I think that is where I will send Matt when he needs his hair cut again!!!

Miles got his stitches out this morning. He is the most over dramatic boy I know. I thought boys were supposed to be tough! We had three people holding him down while the doctor took out the stitches and we probably could have used one more! But they are out and he looks great!

Miles: A noise with stitches on it

Friday, while I was making lunch, the kids were running a muck downstairs. Miles fell, as toddlers often do, and hit his mouth on the bottom edge of the entertainment center. His top teeth went into his bottom lip and the edge of the entertainment center went up into his bottom lip, meeting his teeth in the middle. I met Matt at his pediatrician's office and they sent us to Primary Childrens' ER. Luckily, we were able to drop the girls off at Charise's. 5 hours later, Miles emerged from the ER with 4 stitches in his bottom lip.
The doctors and nurses were fantastic! Everybody loved him, as expected, and took turns holding him. He had his first crush on the first doctor we saw. She was pretty cute! He is usually really shy around strangers, but he was smiling at her and talking to her the whole time! When it was finally time to sedate him so they could stitch him up, they pushed Ketamine through an IV in his hand. He would knock out for about a minute or two, then wake right up screaming again. They gave him 4 or 5 times the normal dose, which was fine. They were singing to him and holding his hands, and talking to him the whole time. We could not have asked for better doctors and nurses.
Miles has not, as of yet, noticed the stitches in his lip. They are bright blue, so everybody else notices them! He is not in pain or discomfort, and is the same happy Miles!!

Itty Bitty Basketball

The girls started basketball last week. They will have three more classes this month, then move on to soccer next month. Elle absolutely loved it! Morgan was quite shy at first, but eventually warmed up and had a blast! You never realized how big a basketball actually is until you see Elle try to dribble one!!! I loved watching them!

It's been a while

I know it's been a while since I posted anything. I have been too caught up in reading. My new favorite author is Harlan Coben, if you want to check him out! Anyway, we have just been up to more of the same. The girls start basketball this Saturday. I will take some video and post it by next week. They are really excited. Oh, and I have one quick funny story. The other night Morgan would not take more than one bite of her dinner. I told her, "You won't get any snacks later, Morgan. You need to eat. This is dinner!!" She stood tall, grabbed her plate, and glared at me while going to put it in the sink and announced, "Dinner is over!" I don't know how this will read, but believe me it was hilarious!

Running Super Fast

I wanted to add one little video, though many of you will not think it as cute as we do. This is the second day at Disneyland and we are heading to the park about 5 minutes to opening time. Apparently, the girls did not think we could get there soon enough because the refused to walk with us and insisted that we "run super fast!" You can just tell that they think they are going about 100mph! It was adorable! They could not wait to get back on the rides!! Oh, you will also notice that Morgan keeps her left arm bent while the right one flings about! This is because she is used to running with Bear Purse on her left arm. It gives her a sort of Phoebe run!

Disneyland

I know everybody is wondering where my post is about our trip. Well, here it is. We spent 5 days at Disneyland with the girls while we left Miles home to be passed around by Grandma and aunts. We are SO appreciative of everyone who helped watch him while we were gone.

Anyway, we had so much fun. I didn't realize how much "kid" is left in me. I was almost giddy with excitement on Space Mountain (my favorite ride of all time!). Morgan was really nervous about all of the characters, but Elle would run full speed towards them and push aside any poor child or adult who happened to be standing between her and the character. She couldn't get enough. We chased Buzz Lightyear around the park for 3 days, and finally caught up with him on our last day. She was ecstatic! Both girls' favorite ride was the teacups...not mine though! Morgan loved to spot Sleeping Beauty's castle and the Matterhorn in the park! Didn't you used to be able to walk in the castle and go up stairs and look at things? Maybe not.

We also got to eat dinner with the princesses. They would go around to each table and sign books and take pictures. I don't think Elle has ever been happier in her whole life! Every time we get in the car now, she asks me if we are going to Disneyland. When I tell her that we are just going to the grocery store or to pick up Morgan, you can see her heart just drop. We will definitely have to go back in a year or two. Oh, one more thing. The girls also loved throwing money into fountains. We told them to make wishes when they threw in their pennies. Morgan would always say, "I wish I was a princess!" and toss her coin in and we would ooh and ah over how cute she is. Then Elle would shout, "I wish for money!" and chuck her coin in, too. It was adorable! All in all, a wonderful vacation!
